Starting Business Credit

I have been a business person for many years. There are many uncertainties in business, one thing is for certain; growth is necessary to survive. My business is fairly efficient yet my operating expenses continue to swell year after year. Maintaining market share is a constant challenge. I need additional working capital to grow my business. My business needed to establish credit, but how do you start business credit?

Local vendors like printers, parts suppliers, even phone companies may extend you credit, mostly due to proximity. Those local vendors usually have no method to report your payment history to other businesses, thus the need for credit reporting bureaus arose.

Business credit building is a puzzle…it has many pieces that methodically create the whole picture. One of the most critical pieces to getting started or building a higher score is finding vendors that will provide you with a large initial line of credit to purchase their products and then work with you to increase the credit limits as your payments warrant. Are you:

Looking for a way to establish business credit for your company without affecting your personal credit?

Distrustful of “off-shore” offers?

Can’t afford a “shelf corporation”?

Before lenders will consider your company for a line of credit to build your business, you must demonstrate a high D&B Paydex score. Before you can purchase any large items on credit, you must prove a good payment history.
